Apart from his themes to Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T. and Jaws - aaah, who are we kidding?  Almost everything John Williams wrote in the 1970’s and 1980’s became instant classics, and nothing personified the superhero more than the utter bombastic goodness that is Williams’s theme to Superman. After four go-arounds in the 70’s and 80’s, DC’s best-known character came back in 2005 - and composer John Ottman took Williams’s motif with him, much to the relief of fans of the original.
